From idea to innovation

Outside, the market is hoping for a specific cutting solution. Inside, an experienced MARTOR team believes in its ideas and "moulds" them into a new form – this is how innovative cutting tools are created by professionals for professionals.

Initial sketches

We were aware of the challenge right from the start. Until then, there had "only" been safety knives with concealed blades and a cutting depth of approx. 6 mm. The aim was to significantly surpass this, including 100% reliable safety technology! Many ideas were scribbled down and sketched out – until the world first was there in front of us on paper.

First prototype

A SECUMAX knife with a slider? That's something new. A (double-sided) slider that allows you to increase the cutting depth from 6 to 10 mm? That's innovative. At least, that's what we thought when we enthusiastically tried out the first samples. The most exciting question: how do the slider and the element in front of the blade, which regulates the cutting depth and maintains the protective function, interact? Better with every optimisation loop.

First test samples at the customer's premises

Our positive impressions are worth a lot, but they are only half the battle, because: What does the customer say? How does the user get along with it? No sooner had they got their hands on the first concept samples than they started cutting: mainly 3-ply cardboard boxes, but also many other items from the goods receiving department. The response during the test phase was so excellent that we could now be sure: this is the solution everyone wanted!

The finished product

The SECUMAX 370 is an innovation that fills a major gap in the market. Our excitement is correspondingly high – but so are our standards. At the end of this exciting journey, we are confident that we can present you with a fantastic new product. Naturally, it comes with GS certification, which was awarded to the SECUMAX 370 by the VPA, an organisation specialising in tools.
