Cutting safely all around
With a cutting tool from MARTOR, you are already on the safe side. However, the ergonomics of your workplace, lighting and acoustics also affect your well-being and efficiency. We would like to touch on this here. In addition to cutting, there are other tasks such as blade changing and cleaning. We have made both of these as easy and safe as possible.
Requirements for a safe cutting workstation
Not only should your safety knives be ergonomic, but your entire workplace should be too. Tables, chairs, shelves, work utensils, even the entire workflow: everything must be designed in such a way that it protects your body and prevents incorrect strain.
What good is the best workplace and the best tools if the lighting is not right? Light that is too bright is dazzling, while light that is too dim makes it even more difficult to recognise hazards. Therefore, make sure you have adequate lighting, especially when cutting edge.
Noise disturbs the concentration you need when cutting, for example. Above all, however, constant noise is a major health risk. This applies both at home and in the factory hall. That is why the limits here are even stricter than the guidelines for light. If noise cannot be avoided, especially at work, individual noise protection measures are necessary.

01. Cutting
You want to work efficiently, and to do that, you need a sharp blade above all else. It's handy when this blade is housed in a robust and ergonomic handle that also protects you from cutting accidents "along the way". In other words, if you're not paying attention, your MARTOR safety knives will come to your aid. Choose the safety technology that suits you best. The higher the safety level, the lower the number of cuts and puncture wounds.
02. Transport and storage
Where should you put your cutting tool when you're not using it? No, your trouser pocket is not the best place. Custom-fit holsters and belt holsters are more suitable, and MARTOR offers a wide selection of these. The containers are so sturdy and durable that there is no risk of the blade piercing through them. You also always know where your safety knives are – within easy reach. The belt holsters also have space for your spare blades, pens, etc.
03. Blade changing and disposal
If the sharp blade becomes blunt at some point, you will need to turn it over or ultimately replace it entirely. MARTOR safety knives are designed so that you can access the blade easily, safely and without tools. Caution: Do not touch the cutting edge! The old blade should be disposed of in a secure collection container, such as our SAMMELBOX and our SAFEBOX. Under no circumstances should you throw the blade loose into the waste paper basket or put it in the general waste.
04. Cleaning and care
Your cutting tool is exposed to dust, dirt and other substances. Material residues such as adhesive tape, foil, etc. stick to it. To ensure that the safety function is not impaired and that everything remains smooth-running, you must clean your safety knives regularly. For example, with compressed air or water; even simply tapping it out can help. Always remove the blade first. Here, too, you benefit from the fact that MARTOR safety knives are particularly easy to open.
