STORM GROUP. CUT INJURIES REDUCED TO ZERO

challenge

The Sturm Group in Salching, Bavaria, has approximately 500 employees spread across eight national and international locations. The specialist in automation, conveyor and surface technology has continuously strengthened its occupational safety measures in recent years. The need for this was also recognised in the area of "manual cutting", as there were more than ten serious cutting injuries in logistics alone in 2018.

solution

The southern German company has been working with MARTOR safety knives since 2019 to optimise the occupational safety of its employees in this area as well. With success: by 2020, the number of cuts had already been reduced to zero, making painful and costly sick days a thing of the past.

For the cutting applications prevalent in the Sturm Group (cardboard, film, plastic strapping band), the SECUMAX 350 and SECUNORM 540 safety knives have been used since then, as well as the SECUNORM 380, especially in the assembly area.

Stefan Ternes, Head of Materials Management, Warehousing and Shipping at the Sturm Group, demonstrates how MARTOR safety knives are used safely and efficiently in his company. He is also our first point of contact when it comes to training users. We are delighted to count the Sturm Group among our references.
