SEGMÜLLER. SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION IN CUTTING ACCIDENTS

challenge

Segmüller is one of Germany's largest and most renowned furniture retailers – and, like MARTOR, a third-generation family business. The daily cutting work is primarily aimed at unpacking the valuable goods efficiently and without damage. However, until the collaboration with MARTOR, there was no optimal cutting solution. Without professional safety knives, there were also frequent days of absence due to cutting injuries.

solution

MARTOR safety knives have been in use at Segmüller's furniture stores and warehouses since 2015. In addition to reducing damage to goods, the number of cuts has also been significantly reduced since then. Today, Segmüller uses SECUMAX 350, SECUPRO 625 and SECUNORM 380 safety knives. These knives can be used to perform all cutting work as required.

Training is a key component of the Segmüller – MARTOR partnership. Segmüller's central training management team and MARTOR's technical consultants work together to familiarise end users and health and safety officers at Segmüller with the safety knives. This involves not only ensuring a perfect cut through cardboard, film and even silicone joints, but also optimising handling and ensuring that blade changing is simple and safe.

This programme is accompanied by application videos, application flyers, etc. This also increases acceptance and ultimately the efficiency of MARTOR safety knives in everyday use. As a result, Segmüller has been able to reduce the number of cutting accidents to a minimum in recent years – without compromising on work efficiency.

We at MARTOR are delighted that Segmüller is investing in the occupational safety of its employees and in product protection with our support.
