Challenge
Heineken is the second-largest brewing group in the world. Its approximately 85,000 employees are spread across locations and breweries on all five continents. Heineken follows a clear global health and safety policy: the goal is to reduce the risk of injuries and illnesses and to ensure a safe, healthy workplace. In this context, the highest standards are also applied to the utility knives used on the job. Take France, for example: Here, the goal was to minimize the risk of cuts and damage to goods in the production-adjacent receiving area. Consequently, in 2020, the company decided to partner with MARTOR.
Solution
Heineken launched the SECUMAX 320 safety knife in France in 2020. The SECUMAX 350 was added later, and most recently, the SECUMAX 150 was introduced to round out the lineup. They are primarily used for depalletizing incoming shipments: plastic film, strapping, and cardboard boxes are the materials cut on a daily basis. A common feature of all safety knives is their concealed blade, which guarantees maximum protection for both users and goods. Heineken places the utmost importance on this. Our affiliated company MARTOR Sarl, based in Gundershoffen, France, is responsible for providing an excellent consulting service and support. The cooperation with the specialist dealer responsible for product delivery has also proven successful on site. The primary point of contact at Heineken was and remains the respective safety officer. Most recently, approximately 140 employees at the Heineken site in Marseille were equipped with MARTOR safety knives and received proper training.
